The initial trouble spots

Two of the most common problems that I’ve run into this far are:
1. Not clicking submit on or finishing the after assessment
2. Project 2, level 1
3. Not doing the correct projects for levels

1. Not clicking submit on or finishing the after assessment
In order for the project to be considered complete, you must scroll through the assessment (I suggest doing it too) and click submit.  If you just go to the assessment, the system has no way of knowing that you finished.  I’ve seen plenty of people get caught up here.

2. Project 2, level 1
Pathways is more like the Competent Leader (CL) Manual, for those familiar with it, in the sense that 1 project doesn’t mean 1 speech or task.  Project 2 in level 1 (Evaluation and Feedback) has 3 parts, 1st speech, 2nd speech applying feedback from the first, an evaluation.

3. Not doing the correct projects for levels
There are a couple of path in level 2 that differ, but it’s mostly in level 3 and beyond where each path has a different required project (at least for the most part) and then the electives are generally the same across the paths (excluding the required project, which is generally an elective in other paths).

One thing about Pathways is that you're doing an Introduction to Toastmaster Mentoring Project for each Path regardless of whether you are interested in the Pathways Mentor Certification or not and whether or not you've already completed it.  I've noticed that people are apprehensive about doing it because they're either afraid of sharing or just don't want to. Base Camp Manager Training

When Pathways launched in February 2018 for my Districts, I wasn't in an official position that had access to Base Camp Manager.  One of the things that I noticed was having our launch moved up to February from May in December 2017, made it really hard to fully understand Pathways, even for someone like me who wanted to embrace Pathways. First, you had the struggles of people thinking that had submitted the request to move on only to later find out they never clicked "Submit" on the after assessment. Second, you had people missing the training that was offered by their Guides and Ambassadors or somewhat absent Guides and Ambassadors.  Overall, people just weren't interested in learning about Pathways when it first rolled out. Award Submissions

In the past, there was just one system to enter and submit awards in, but with Pathways there’s now two systems, basecamp and Club Central.  The award has to be approved in basecamp for the member to be able to continue, but it also has to be submitted in Club Central for the person to receive credit. Some important information about submitting: 1. If you are approving for a dual member, be sure that they want to give the club the award before submitting. (I usually have whatever club is getting my award approve in basecamp as well.  Occasionally, I’ll hold off so that it helps a club as I’m a DTM and am more concerned about helping my clubs than getting achievements.) 2. If submitting a level 3 or higher, be sure to ask them if they want a letter or email to their manager.
